As usual this is the best time for us to get our hands on Australia’s fresh, colorful, nutritious yet delicious Summer Fruits ranging from peaches to plums, nectarines and apricots.
Also in conjunction with Chinese New Year and Valentines are coming, these summer fruits will make you celebrations even more sweeter with these tasty luscious fruits especially being used in our trademarks Yee Sang. To mark the celebrations, Taste Australia has launched the “Celebration of Flavors” campaign at AEON Metro Prima late last week.
Taste Australia has also engaged the Master Chef, Abang Brian to shared his unconventional Yee Sang Recipe made sweeter and healthier with Australian summer fruits such as succulent Australia White, and Yellow Peaches, While and Yellow Nectarines and Black, Red and Dapple Plums.
Abang Brian then also shares another 2 recipe that he has created for a Romantic Peach and Chocolate Truffle layered lovingly with juicy peaches and white chocolate cream, decorated with peaches and red plum. Perfect for a romantic Valentine’s day dinner or a Chinese New Year Party.
According to Mr. Liew Kong Cheng, Business Development Manager of Austrade Malaysia, Australia produce are usually highly sought after due to their deeper flavours and freshness.
He added thanks to Australia’s warm climate and hot summer, the stone fruits come out sweeter and juicer.
The event ended with some refreshments prepared by Master Chef Abang Brian using Australia Summerfruits such as Australian Apricot & Matcha Cheesecake, Australian Nectarine & Hazelnut Crumble, Australian Plum – Choux Chantilly, Australian Summerfruit Triffle and Australian Peach – Rolled Cake.
These fruits also makes a perfect gifts as their round shape and gold and res hues are said to symbolize prosperity and bring the recipient good fortune throughout the year.
