Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Launched a Traditional Yet Modern Chinese New Year Meals

Chinese New Year is a perfect time for friends and family to reconnect and share their precious moment together. Celestial Court is definitely no doubt famous for it’s dim sums and Chinese cuisines and this year, they are going to brings its diners an array of scrumptious Chinese New Year delicacies.

As a appetizers, Yee Sang or Lou Sang is one of the dish that we should start our meal during Chinese New Years. This Yee Sang was said to have originated from Seremban in the 1940s, Loke Chin Fatt was the caterer responsible for the tweaking of the humble fisherman’s dish into a cultural, celebratory phenomenon.

It symbolizes good luck, prosperity, health and all things auspicious. Celestial Court’s Chinese Head Chef; Chef Ho Boon has specially crafted an Unity Lou Sang; a modern reiteration of the Yee Sang for the most important festival in the Chinese Lunar Calendar. The Lou sang will take on the Iconic dish features four lavish selections and combines a balanced mix of ingredients, made especially to be shared with your nearest and dearest. Besides the unity Yee Sang, Celestial Court also offers Abalone Sliced with Frehs Scallop Yee Sang, Crispy Sof-Shell Crab Yee Sang, Norwegian Salmon Yee Sang and Jelly Fish Yee Sang.

Of course after tossing Yee Sang, let’s not forget about the main meals. Celestial Court has prepared 3 Auspicious Reunion 9-course Set Menu; CNY Wealth Set RM 1688 nett per table, CNY Prosperity Set RM 1988 nett per table and CNY Happiness Set RM 2388 neet per table, available for lunch and dinner.

In these set meals, among the dishes highlights were; Poached White Pomfret with Shredded Chicken and Mushroom in Spicy Supreme Stock, Crispy Roasted Garlic Cord Fed Chicken, SiChuan Spiced Mushroom Sauce, Stewed Dried Oyster with Sea Cucumber and Black Moss, Wok-Fried Prawns with Angled Luffa Gourd, Shimeiji Mushrooms and Cashew Nuts and Pan-Fried Traditional Lunar New Year Cake “Nian Gau”.
