The Galaxy S21 FE 5G is Samsung’s latest smartphone in the upper mid-range segment, promising to continue the trend that began with the S20 FE last year, of a premium device with flagship features at a relatively affordable price.
Let’s take a look at our first impression of its Galaxy S21 FE here.
The Design. The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G has a contour-cut design for the camera module, just like the Galaxy S21 series, but this portion is built from plastic instead of metal and isn’t an extension of the frame. The back panel is also plastic but the display gets Gorilla Glass Victus for better scratch protection. The metal frame feels sturdy, and you’ll find the power and volume buttons on the right, and the USB port and dual-SIM tray on the bottom. There’s no headphone jack.
The S21 FE 5G is fairly slim at 7.9mm and is definitely lighter at 177g than the 190g of the Galaxy S20 FE 5G. Even though I love the Graphite color unit of the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, it actually does make the design feel a little boring, but thankfully there are also brighter shades such as Olive, Lavender, and White.
Storage Capacity. The phone is available in two storage variants, 128GB and 256GB, with the same 8GB of RAM in both. However, the SIM tray is not the hybrid type that we saw in the Galaxy S20 FE 5G, which means you can’t expand the internal storage.
The Camera. Samsung Galaxy S21 FE features a triple-camera module– the main 12MP f1.8 camera, 12MP f2.2 Ultra-Wide camera, and 8MP f2.4 telephoto camera. On the front, it features only a 32MP f2.2 camera. The camera is also capable of shooting at 4K 60FPS and has a stabilization mode and portrait video mode. There’s even a Pro Video mode that lets you tweak the shutter speed, ISO, and focus manually while shooting.
Performance. The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G features an Exynos 2100, which is the same chip found in Samsung’s flagship S21 series. On the software side, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G ships with OneUI 4, based on Android 12. The new version has small tweaks throughout the interface and menus, but overall, it looks and feels familiar.
The Battery. Samsung’s new phone comes with a 4,500mAh battery with a 25W fast charger, and also supports 15 wireless charging and reverse power share features.
What’s In The Box. The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is equipped with a Quick Start Guide, Warranty Card, Regional Lock Guide, an Ejection Pin, a Charging Cable, and a 15W Super Fast Charging Adapter too!
For our first impression, we feel the Samsung Galaxy’s S21 Fans Editions is a value for money smartphone that has great premium features on it. For more information on Galaxy S21 FE 5G, please visit: https://www.samsung.com/my/smartphones/galaxy-s21-5g/galaxy-s21-fe-5g/
