Stepping into Hilton Petaling Jaya’s lobby on November 19, 2024, felt like stepping into a magical holiday scene. The grand Tree Lighting Ceremony marked the start of their Hilton Holidays, and the festive atmosphere was simply captivating. The beautifully lit Christmas tree, joyful carols, and cheerful guests in red and green set the perfect holiday tone. Santa even made a surprise appearance, spreading smiles among the little ones.
The real star of the night, however, was the culinary experience at Paya Serai. The Festive Dinner Buffet was a delightful showcase of flavors. The roasted New Zealand sirloin, perfectly cooked and paired with a rich mushroom sauce, was a clear favorite. The roasted boneless lamb leg with rosemary and mint sauce was incredibly tender and flavorful, while the sautéed brussels sprouts and red cabbage added a lovely earthy balance to the rich meats. For seafood lovers, the fresh prawns and mussels were juicy and refreshing.
Desserts were equally indulgent, with highlights like the velvety chocolate yule log and the fragrant traditional Christmas pudding with black treacle sauce. The variety of cookies, from cinnamon stars to honey cookies, provided a sweet ending to the meal, each bite carrying the essence of the holidays.
For Christmas Eve, we recommend indulging in their special buffet featuring live carols and a street magician to keep the night lively. On Christmas Day, the High Tea Buffet offers fun family activities like a Gingerbread Decorating Competition and another Santa appearance. The festive dishes continue to impress, with offerings like herb-bread-stuffed roast turkey and buttery sautéed baby carrots.
What truly impressed me was the festive takeaway options available at DRIP. Their Traditional Roast Christmas Turkey (RM699 nett) comes with herb bread stuffing, cranberries, and giblet sauce—perfectly seasoned and juicy, making it a centerpiece-worthy dish. The Christmas Yule Logs (RM120 nett) and Gingerbread Houses (RM150 nett) are great for gifting or adding a festive touch to your table. Early birds can even save RM100 on turkey orders placed before December 18, 2024.
For those with a sweet tooth, the assorted cookies like crescent cookies and cinnamon stars (RM35 nett per pack) are must-tries. Meanwhile, the Roasted Lamb Leg and sides like sautéed potatoes are ideal for creating a holiday feast at home without the stress.
