Slow WiFi can be very annoying especially if you are staying, working, or even while playing games. Slow internet speed can ruin your day whether you need to upload work-related files on the cloud or even if you need to stream your favorite show on Netflix. This is most probably due to the reason that your old router or the router that has been supplied by your local Internet Service Provider couldn’t provide you with the needed support for your latest internet speed plans.
As the others say, your internet is only as fast as the slowest part of your network, so if your router isn’t capable of handling your internet speed, it acts as a choke point for your whole home network. And if that’s the case, you need to replace your router ASAP. Otherwise, you’re paying for more internet bandwidth than you’re actually getting. For example, if you recently upgraded your internet plan to a 400 Mbps speed but are using a 300Mbps wireless router, you’re losing 100 Mbps of bandwidth just because your router isn’t capable of handling speeds that fast.
Last month, Tenda has launched a new router; the Tenda TX3 AX1800 Dual Band Gigabit WiFi 6 Router which has adopted the latest generation of Wi-Fi 6 and 1.5GHz Quad-Core CPU which allows the router to perform much faster, more stable internet connection and of course with more connections at a time. So what makes this Tenda TX3 router the best router to have in the current market?
Supports Faster Speeds than AC Router
The Tenda TX3 Router is equipped with WiFi 6 for Ultra-fast Transmission Speed and a dual-band concurrency rate of up to 1775 Mbps. This means that the router could support up to574 Mbps for its 2.4GHz channel and 1201 Mbps for its 5GHz channel.
Faster and More Stable
With 1.5GHz Quad-Core CPU, it allows the router to have an instant fast response, making the operation more stable and faster. With these high-performance quad-core processor units, the network load capacity has been greatly improved compared to its predecessor.
More Connections at a Time for Gamers
The OFDMA and MU-MIMO technology, significantly improve network performance and efficiency, allows more devices to access the Internet at the same time, lowering latency, multiplayer online games and 4K videos are smoother.
Reduces Interference and Improves Efficiency (Low Latency)
Tenda TX3’s router also supports BSS Colouring Technology which helps to enhance the ability to resist WiFi interference from neighbor’s WiFi, making transmission more stable. The concentrated signal makes sure stronger and more stable Multi-story home WiFi Coverage. While the Tenda TX3 router also equipped with the Beam Forming Technology that has been incorporated into many of their WiFi devices, it focuses a wireless signal towards a specific receiving device, rather than having the signal spread in all directions from a broadcast antenna. The technology also helps to improve the signal transmission intensity and sensitivity, making the Tenda’s TX3 router performing fast while the conventional routers struggle.
WiFi Security also plays an important role in nowadays environment. Without get security system in our WiFi devices, the result would be damaging. To avoid being hacked, Tenda TX3 has enhanced the security of its devices by incorporating new security technology which complied with the WPA3 Wireless Encryption Security Standard. The Tenda TX3 security increases the difficulty of algorithmic and network password cracking, can prevent forced – attacks, violent cracking, and protect user privacy in open WiFi networks.
Talking about energy savings, who doesn’t love a powerful device that could save lots of energy and electricity bills.
Especially with the devices that we are powering it on 24/7. The Tenda TX3 supports TWT (Target Wake-Up Time) where it could effectively reduce the power consumption to terminal equipment and greatly extend its battery life by enabling the device be on sleep mode when unused to save the device battery life.
As same as the other Tenda’s devices, the router was quite easy to set up. Let’s start by changing the old router to the new one. There were 2 ways to change it:
1. Duplicate the Router
For east set up we could recommend you to duplicate your old router setting to the Tenda TX3 router by:
Power on both router > connect both router using LAN Port > LED indicator blinks 8 seconds > remove original router > connect the Tenda TX3 to modem > LED indicator blink 3 seconds > DONE!
NOTE: The duplicate PPPoE way currently supports ONLY Maxis Fiber ISP. If you are using other ISP such as Unifi, TIME and etc, please do use the second way instead. Before starting this step, please do get your PPPoE username and password from your Internet Service Provider (ISP); Maxis, Unifi, TIME and etc.
Once you have done, remove the WLAN cable from the old router and connect it back to your existing modem port. Then change Tenda TX3’s cable from LAN to WLAN port.
2. Reset the new router
If you prefer to set it up from scratch, you could replace the old router with the Tenda TX3 router and follow the steps below:
Connect and power on new router to modem > Connect WiFi to Tenda TX3, Press Setting Icon / browse TendaWifi.com > Manage Router > select PPPoE > Key-in your PPPoE username and password > input your Tenda Wi-Fi Name and desired password > Your Are Connected!

The WiFi router will restart and you will have your customised WiFi name on it. Now you coudl reconnect to that WiFi with the password that you have set.
If you have used Step 1 for PPPoE setting, you do have to follow this steps too. The only difference is; your PPPoE has been automatically set-up. All you have to do is to press the next button.
Remotely Control Your WiFI
The Tenda TX3 also allows us to customize even more settings through their Tenda WiFi apps. All you have to do is to connect your Tenda TX3 WiFi with the apps and it is as easy as 123. Before you get into the apps, make sure your device is connected to the Tenda TX3’s WiFi and follow the steps below:
Open Tenda Apps > select PPPoE > Key-in your PPPoE username and password > input your Tenda Wi-Fi Name and desired password > DONE!
The Tenda WiFI apps allow us to control our WiFi status, devices, and users through Tenda App even while traveling and helps to facilitate real-time monitoring of routers any many more. It could also allows you to create a additional temporary guest WiFi for your guest to use too!
No Internet Connection Detected?
If you are unable to access to internet after connected to the Tenda TX3’s WiFi, worry not. Most probably your ISP setting is not properly set. What you have to do is:
Open Web Browser > Type 192.168.0.1 on URL box > Log-In with the password that you have set for the WiFi earlier > Go to Internet Setting > Change the ISP to your ISP provider name > Save & DONE!
The router will automatically restart again and your WiFi is good to go. This method always works.
The Tenda TX3 setup was as easy as its other Tenda products. It was as easy as 3 Steps to complete the whole migration from the old router to the new router. We felt that you could even set up your own even if you do not have any technical knowledge about networking.
We have tested out the Speed and Coverage of this router and below are the results.
Old Router Speed and Coverage:
Tenda TX3 Router Speed and Coverage:
Based on the Speed and Connection test result that we have got on our 30Mbps Maxis Home Fiber, the WiFi speed for each level of the home has been increased. Even though the speed was not 30Mbps, but it was almost there with a download speed of 29.8Mbps for 5G on the first floor.
The second floor’s WiFi speed has also increased drastically with a speed of 28.9Mbps for 5G. We normally did not get any WiFi signal on our third floor. But with the Tenda TX3, we manage to get wider coverage with a quite decent speed for both 5G and 2.4G WiFi. If you realized, the 2.4G WiFi speed on the third floor has better speed than the 5G on the Tenda TX3. This is normal as 2.4G WiFi is meant to reach out to a wider area in our home.
It was indeed a much more powerful and better WiFi router that we have ever tested out so far. We thought that our existing router is one of the best in town but comparing with this Tenda TX3, our existing router is not where match the Tenda TX3.
The Tenda WiFi Apps were wonderful as it enables us to have more control on our WiFi and also users that is connected to the WiFi remotely, even while you are away. This was definitely a very useful features to have especially with Kids and Guest devices.
Based on what we have found, we highly recommend this Tenda TX3 as the best router to look out for in 2021! We gurantee you would not regret buying it.
