Yup, based on what we observed, many users had opted for the plus series of this phone. The Galaxy S23 Plus is not the cheapest of the trio and not the high-end flagship either. So why it’s the best seller phone among the S23 series? After weeks of trial and study, here are some of the reasons we think why the Galaxy S23 Puls had been liked by many:
The Galaxy S23 Plus boasts most of the same specs as the regular S23 (save for the bigger screen). It’s equipped with a 6.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The pixel density clocks in at 393 pixels per inch (ppi), while the brightness gets all the way up to 1,750 nits — the same as the S23 Ultra. We’ve been using it for about a week, and there’s no question that it’s a solid smartphone.
The 256GB of storage is the new base amount for the S23 Plus and S23 Ultra this year, and it’s a fantastic change. That’s compared to the 128GB that has become the standard base storage amount for most flagship phones. Getting 256GB for the same starting price as the 128GB Galaxy S22 Plus last year may seem like a subtle upgrade, but it’s a hugely important one that you’ll be more and more thankful for the longer you hold on to the phone.
The Galaxy S23 Plus sports a 4,700mAh battery to get you through each day. That’s 200mAh more than the 4,500mAh battery used in the S22 Plus last year and just slightly below the massive 5,000mAh battery in the S23 Ultra. And just like the S23 Ultra, the battery life on the Galaxy S23 Plus is excellent.
The S23 Plus can last for two days or more on a single charge depending on how you use it and can charge to 100% in less than 70 minutes with a 45W charger (which has to be purchased separately).
Powering the S23 Plus’ great display — and everything else — is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (which is available in all Galaxy S23 series). As Samsung is happy to point out, this isn’t just any Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The important thing you need to know is that it makes the Galaxy S23 Plus ridiculously fast.
Open any app or game, and it loads instantly. Bounce back and forth through multiple apps all at once, and the S23 Plus has no problem keeping up with you. Played with my Need for Speed with graphics settings cranked up to their maximum, and the Galaxy S23 Plus powers through everything without breaking a sweat. We’re regularly and thoroughly impressed with how insanely capable this smartphone is — especially when it does all of this without ever heating up too much.
Of course, if you compare it with its Galaxy S23 Ultra, what we’ve mentioned here were no longer valid. The Galaxy S23 Ultra is much better compared to the Galaxy S23+ in terms of all specs. But if you are not the person who needs such high specs phone, the Galaxy S23+ is a pretty complete package and doesn’t skimp out in many areas or try to pressure you into buying an S23 Ultra. It’s perfect for any fan of Samsung phones looking for an upgrade.
Frankly, if you remove those features from the equation, the Galaxy S23+ becomes the best option for most people. It has an amazing (flat) display and good stereo speakers, superfast performance thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip (which powers the S23 series everywhere), an excellent and versatile camera setup, and five years of software support (four years of major OS upgrades and five years of security updates).
Oh, and the Galaxy S23+ has the traditional rounded corners used on all Galaxy S series phones except Samsung’s Ultra-branded flagships because it doesn’t have an S Pen and is not meant to be a Galaxy Note replacement, so it’s more comfortable to use.
The S23+ comes in four colors: Phantom Black, Cream, Green, and Lavender. Samsung also offers two additional colors exclusively through its online store: Graphite and Lime.
