Malaccan Baba Nyonya foods have been one of the best cuisines in Malaysia. Those who had ever visited Melaka will never miss a chance to try out this cuisine before leaving. It’s one of the 5 local cuisines that you could get from Melaka (besides Malay, Chinese, Indian and Portuguese cuisine).

In order to get a taste of Melaka’s Baba Nyonya cuisine, we had to go over to Melaka to taste it. It could not be found in any other place. Understanding this issue, many food entrepreneurs had opened up their own version of Baba Nyonya restaurants around the town. But not all had successfully imitated the taste of Melaka into their cuisines.
Recently we visited a Baba Nyonya restaurant in SS17 Petaling Jaya named; Kampung Contemporary Dining to test out their Malaccan Baba Nyonya cuisines. As their restaurant name says; Kampung Contemporary Dining, it’s a modern Baba Nyonya house that had given Malaccan Baba Nyonya cuisines a little twist.
We tried out a set of meals for 4 people which includes dishes like Melaka Pork Satay (5 sticks), Starfruits Assam Fish (Siakap), Braised Pork Pongteh, Nyonya Chicken Rendang, Charred Cauliflowers, and Unlimited Refill Coconut Rice. We ended our meal with cendol desserts (4 cendol in a set) which come with the set for FREE.

Come to our surprise, even though they had made some small changes to their recipes, the dishes that we had tried assembled almost the same as the cuisines taste in Melaka. We could verify the taste as we are from Melaka and it was our home taste that we never will forget.
