Malaysia recently experienced the grandeur of OOTW 2.0, its Largest Water & Music Festival, held from January 19th to 21st, 2024, at KL Base in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. While the curtains may have closed on this remarkable event, the visionary leaders Lens Chan and Summer Lau, founders of OOTW, are already in the planning stages for OOTW 3.0, along with their dedicated young squad team.

Key Highlights:
Day 1 – 19th January 2024:
The festivities commenced with the spectacular Opening Ceremony of OOTW 2.0, graced by the esteemed Guest of Honor, YB Dato Dr Ammar Ghapar, Director General of Tourism Malaysia. Notable personalities such as Dr Jay Ong, Dato Sri Vincent Tiew, Datuk Wira DR Calvin Khiu, and others attended. Lens Chan and Summer Lau received their second Malaysia Book of Record for erecting the Tallest Stage Trusses, and OOTW 2.0 marked a significant milestone with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with global brand Starbucks and other partners. YB Dato Dr Ammar Ghapar expressed admiration for OOTW 2.0’s achievements and hoped for continued success with Tourism Malaysia’s support.

The event then kicked off with internationally acclaimed EDM sensation NERVO, Taiwan’s hardstyle female act Cyndi, and Indonesia’s hip-hop sensation Ramengvrl. The stage witnessed stellar performances by Cherry Bomb, V-Gene, and a captivating show by Jeryl Lee, showcasing a powerhouse of talent. Nervo and Cyndi holding the Malaysia Flag garnered great publicity for OOTW 2.0.
Day 2 of OOTW 2.0:
Highlighted the electrifying performance of world-renowned #8 DJ, Steven Aoki from the USA. Aoki mesmerized over 15,000 fans with stunning beats amidst water and fire blasting. Expressing gratitude, Aoki praised the organizers for bringing him back to Malaysia after nine years, expressing his fondness for Malaysia and its authentic Nasi Lemak.
Day 3 of OOTW 2.0:
Featured the legendary DJ James Hype from England, along with Malaysia’s homegrown talents, concluding with a dazzling performance by Singapore’s DJ Inquisitive and a surprise appearance by guest vocalist Hannah Ying. The festival strategically curated a blend of local and international DJs, aiming to elevate Malaysia’s DJ talents globally and contribute to Tourism Malaysia’s initiative.


The three-day extravaganza drew an impressive total attendance of nearly 35,161, surpassing expectations. The success can be attributed to meticulous planning, including over 60 food stalls, a basketball court, a car exhibition, an inflatable water park, a massage area, and a splash zone, setting a comprehensive record in Malaysia. The organizer, Genesis Entertainment, aims to transform OOTW into an international music festival within the next 3 to 5 years, contributing to Malaysia’s tourism industry and economic development.
