A Feast of “Warisan Serumpun” at Dorsett Hartamas Ramadhan Buffet

Ramadhan is a time for reflection, togetherness, and of course, indulgent feasting. This year, we had the opportunity to experience Dorsett Hartamas’ “Warisan Serumpun” buffet at Table Talk Restaurant, a culinary tribute to the shared heritage of Malaysia and Indonesia. Featuring a spread curated by Head Chef Ahmad and celebrity Chef Fikree, the buffet brings forth an exquisite mix of traditional flavors that will delight any food enthusiast.

Stepping into Table Talk, we was immediately greeted by the aroma of spices wafting from the buffet stations. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the signature dishes. Chef Ahmad’s Nasi Hujan Panas was a colorful and fragrant delight, pairing beautifully with the bold flavors of Daging Rendang Minang, which was tender and rich with coconut and spices. The Sotong Masala offered a spicy kick, while the Patin Tempoyak brought a tangy and robust balance that lovers of fermented durian-based dishes will appreciate.

Udang Lemak Cili Api provided a creamy yet fiery contrast, and the Kambing Masak Merah was succulent, bathed in a rich, aromatic sauce that perfectly complemented the tender lamb. The addition of Kambing Golek, served atop the flavorful Nasi Hujan Panas, was a showstopper—juicy, smoky, and tender, with every bite infused with the deep flavors of slow-roasted perfection.

Chef Fikree’s Indonesian specialty, Nasi Kambing, stood out with its deep, earthy spices. The slow-cooked lamb was fork-tender, absorbing every bit of the robust marinade. Each bite was a satisfying blend of rich flavors, making it a must-try dish of the evening.

Beyond the mains, the buffet offered an impressive variety of appetizers, including an assortment of Kerabu and Ulam-ulaman, perfect for refreshing the palate. The live stations kept things exciting, from the noodle station serving comforting broths to the goreng-goreng stall, where crispy delights like cempedak goreng, pisang goreng, karipap, and popiah made for addictive snacking. The grilled station was another crowd favorite, featuring Table Talk’s signature Fried Chicken, alongside perfectly grilled fish, prawns, and squid, each bite infused with smoky goodness.

No meal is complete without dessert, and the selection here did not disappoint. A spread of local kuih and cakes offered sweet endings to a satisfying meal, with flavors ranging from coconut-rich to delicately pandan-infused treats.

Priced at RM118 nett per person for early bird bookings (normal price: RM138 nett per adult) and RM88 nett for children aged 6-12 years old and senior citizens, the Ramadhan Buffet runs daily from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Table Talk Restaurant, Dorsett Hartamas.

For those looking to indulge in a well-executed, flavor-packed Ramadhan buffet that stays true to its roots, this is a dining experience not to be missed.
