What if you could savour the flavours of all 13 states of Malaysia without leaving Genting Highlands — and for just RM69 nett?

That is the idea behind “Rasa Rasa Malaysia” at Geo Resort & Hotel, Genting Highlands, a culinary celebration bringing together traditional dishes, local kuih, street-food favourites and nostalgic childhood snacks from across the country.
More than just a buffet, the promotion takes diners on a gastronomic journey from Johor to Sarawak, showcasing the distinctive flavours and culinary heritage of each state.
13 States, One Buffet
The journey begins with Johor’s Laksa Johor, rich and aromatic with its distinctive fish-based gravy, alongside chewy Kuih Kaswi.
Melaka brings the tangy and spicy Ikan Assam Pedas Kapitan, Nasi Ayam Bebola Melaka, Penderam and Kuih Bakar, while Negeri Sembilan showcases the smoky and creamy Daging Salai Masak Lemak, paired with Kuih Sopang and Wajik Manis.

From Selangor, diners can try comforting Laksam Londeh and traditional tapai, while Pahang highlights its iconic Patin Tempoyak, fragrant Betong Ginger Chicken and Daging Opor, alongside Kuih Badak Berendam and Dodol Kukus.
Terengganu serves up the classic Nasi Dagang with Gulai Ikan Tongkol, while Kelantan offers aromatic Ayam Bakar Percik Putih, Lompat Tikam and Cek Mek Molek.
In the north, Kedah’s Gulai Daging Batang Pisang offers a taste of traditional northern cooking, while Perlis features Laksa Tiara and Kuih Danger.

Penang needs little introduction, with its much-loved Nasi Kandar and Laksa Penang, complemented by Kuih Apam. Perak brings the richly spiced Rendang Tok, together with Masak Lemak Pisang Muda, Putu Perak and Kuih Limas.
The journey then crosses to East Malaysia, where Sabah showcases Pinasakan Sada Ikan and Ikan Bakar Terung Asam, while Sarawak presents the distinctive Ayam Pansuh, traditionally cooked in bamboo.

A Taste of Authenticity
What particularly stood out during our visit was the authenticity of the local flavours.
Compared with some hotel buffets where traditional dishes can be toned down for a broader palate, many of the offerings here retained the distinctive tastes associated with their respective states.
The smoky richness of Negeri Sembilan’s Daging Salai Masak Lemak, the tangy Patin Tempoyak of Pahang and the bold flavours of Penang’s classics all helped make the experience feel more like a culinary journey across Malaysia than a standard hotel buffet.
From Street Food to Childhood Memories
The Malaysian experience continues at the Geo Resort Stall, where guests can enjoy freshly prepared Roti Canai, Murtabak, Shawarma, Satay, Nasi Lemak Berlauk and Teh Tarik, together with an assortment of traditional Kuih Melayu.
Meanwhile, Gerai Jajan takes diners down memory lane with nostalgic treats such as Sagon, Cakar Ayam, Dodol, Candy Kelapa and Choki-Choki — familiar childhood favourites that will likely bring back memories for many Malaysians.

RM69 for a Taste of Malaysia
Running on selected weekends from 29 August to 20 September 2026, Rasa Rasa Malaysia offers lunch from 12pm to 3pm and dinner from 7pm to 10pm.
The buffet is priced at RM69 nett per adult, while senior citizens and children below 12 pay RM35 nett. Children below six eat free.
With 13 states represented alongside street food and nostalgic snacks, the promotion offers a convenient way to explore Malaysia’s diverse culinary heritage in one destination.
For Malaysians, it is an opportunity to rediscover familiar flavours. For visitors, it is a chance to sample a little of what makes each region unique.
One country. 13 states. One buffet. Countless flavours.
