Tucked in the ever-buzzing Solaris Mont Kiara is Zuilong, a cosy eatery that specialises in authentic Korean Chinese cuisine—a fusion that combines Korean flair with comforting Chinese staples. From the moment you step into Zuilong, you’re greeted with stylish contemporary interiors and an inviting energy that promises more than just a meal—it offers a unique cross-cultural dining experience.

The Macaron Shrimp Toast: A Picture-Perfect Starter
We began with their whimsical Macaron Shrimp Toast, and yes—it looks exactly as it sounds. These shrimp toasts are shaped like cute little macarons, crisp on the outside with a fluffy prawn filling inside. Served with both chilli sauce and condensed milk, you get to toggle between spicy and sweet, and strangely, both work well. The condensed milk added a creamy, milky contrast to the crispy savouriness of the toast, while the chilli sauce delivered a sharp kick that enhanced the seafood flavour. It’s quirky, Instagram-worthy, and surprisingly addictive.
The Signature Set Dish (Serves 2-3): A Hearty Trio
We opted for the Set Dish for 2–3 pax, which came with Jjang Myun, Jjamppong Myeon, and a small Tangsuyuk—a classic lineup for lovers of Korean Chinese flavours.
- Jjang Myun (Black Bean Noodles): Thick, chewy noodles coated in a rich black bean sauce, topped with diced pork and vegetables. The sauce was deep and earthy with just a hint of sweetness, and the noodles had great bite. It’s comforting and hearty—the type of dish you’d crave on a rainy evening.
- Jjamppong Myeon (Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup): If you love spice, this is where Zuilong shines. The broth was bold, brimming with umami and heat, with generous portions of seafood—mussels, squid, and prawns. The noodles soaked up all the goodness, and the fiery kick was balanced by the briny sweetness of the seafood.
- Tangsuyuk (Sweet & Sour Fried Pork): The pork pieces were light and crispy with a tender centre, glazed with a glossy sweet and sour sauce. The sauce leaned more on the tangy side, which kept it refreshing and not cloying. A satisfying crunch with every bite.

Drinks That Delight
To pair with the food, we tried the Small Coconut Makgeolli, which comes beautifully served for two. The coconut flavour added a tropical softness to the creamy rice wine—a surprisingly good pairing with the heavier, spicy dishes.
We also had a refreshing mix of Pink Guava & Ribena—sweet, tart, and fruity, perfect for cooling down after the Jjamppong.

Zuilong is a charming addition to the Mont Kiara food scene, serving up well-balanced Korean-Chinese classics with a creative twist. Whether you’re in for a casual lunch or dinner with friends, this place delivers bold flavours and an experience worth sharing.
