As the cool evening mist settles over Genting Highlands, Geo Resort & Hotel welcomes Ramadan with Ya Habibi Iftar 2026, a highland buka puasa experience that blends family togetherness with a rich showcase of Pahang’s culinary heritage. Set against the refreshing mountain climate, this year’s buffet is more than just a meal — it is an invitation to spend meaningful time with loved ones while savouring a thoughtfully curated spread of Malaysian and Arabic favourites.

Held at Jade Hall from 21 February to 15 March 2026, from 7.00pm to 10.30pm, the buffet unfolds as a lively dining affair with live show kitchens and an extensive selection designed for families, friends and corporate gatherings. The spacious hall, filled with the aroma of grilled meats and simmering spices, creates an inviting setting for breaking fast together.
At the heart of the buffet is the Kambing Golek, commanding attention at the carving station. The lamb is slow-roasted to a beautiful mahogany hue, its outer layer lightly crisp while the meat beneath remains tender and succulent. Paired with fragrant nasi beriani kambing, the combination is deeply satisfying — the rice fluffy and perfumed with spices, each grain carrying the warmth of cloves and cardamom without overwhelming the palate.
The assorted ikan bakar selection is equally compelling. Grilled over open flames and brushed with robust sambal, the fish arrives smoky and moist, with a spicy-sweet crust that enhances rather than masks its natural freshness. Nearby, the satay corner draws steady queues, with skewers grilled to a gentle char and served alongside a peanut sauce that strikes a pleasing balance between nuttiness and subtle heat.

Adding further variety are Ikan Pari Assam Pedas, Ayam Madu and Grilled Chicken with Thai Sauce. The stingray in assam pedas features a tangy, spicy gravy that enhances the delicate texture of the fish. Ayam Madu delivers a subtle sweetness, its caramelised glaze coating tender meat beneath. The Grilled Chicken with Thai Sauce introduces a zesty, citrus-forward note that cuts through the richness of the buffet, offering a lighter yet flavourful option.
In support of Tourism Pahang, the buffet proudly highlights iconic state dishes including Ikan Patin Tempoyak, Sambal Hitam and Opor Daging. The Ikan Patin Tempoyak stands out for its thick, fermented durian gravy — bold and creamy, enveloping tender river fish in unmistakable local character. Sambal Hitam provides earthy depth with a gentle smokiness, pairing well with steamed rice. The Opor Daging offers comforting richness, with chunks of beef slow-cooked until tender in a fragrant coconut-based gravy.

International favourites such as Shawarma and Char Koay Teow round out the selection. The shawarma is freshly sliced, juicy and well-seasoned, wrapped in warm flatbread with crisp accompaniments. Meanwhile, the Char Koay Teow, cooked à la minute, boasts a distinct wok hei aroma, with springy noodles coated in a savoury-sweet sauce.

The buffet is priced at RM158 nett per adult, while children below 12 years old and senior citizens dine at RM79 nett per person. Children under six years old enjoy the spread free of charge, making it a family-friendly option for Ramadan gatherings.
For those wishing to extend the experience, Geo Resort & Hotel is offering a 2 Days 1 Night stay promotion at RM498 per room per night for bookings made until 15 March 2026. The package includes a one-night stay in a Superior Suite complete with an in-room coffee machine, one Sahur or breakfast for two persons, one Ya Habibi Iftar buffet for two persons, as well as complimentary WiFi — an attractive way to turn a buka puasa evening into a short, relaxing highland retreat.
