Hong Kong Enhances Muslim-Friendly Travel Experiences

Hong Kong is strengthening its position as a top Muslim-friendly destination with more Halal-certified eateries and hotels catering to Muslim travellers. The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has been working closely with stakeholders to enhance services, resulting in 52 hotels receiving Crescent Rating accreditation and 153 Halal-certified and Muslim-owned eateries as of February 2025.

These efforts have led to a 43% and 50% year-on-year increase in visitors from Indonesia and Malaysia, respectively. HKTB continues to support local businesses through training and accreditation programs, ensuring a more inclusive experience for Muslim visitors.

Must-Try Halal Dining in Hong Kong:

Chinesology (IFC Mall, Central) – The first Halal-certified fine-dining Chinese restaurant.
– **Cuisine Cuisine** (The Mira Hong Kong) – Michelin-recommended Cantonese cuisine with Halal options.
Dorsett Café (Dorsett Tsuen Wan) – Fully Halal-certified with a special Ramadan buffet.
Kowloon Shangri-La, Café Kool – Recognized as a Halal-friendly restaurant with a curated Ramadan buffet.
Local Confectionery Brands – Kee Wah Bakery, PIN Cookies, and Fine Foods Shop now offer Halal-certified treats.
