Recently we discovered a Halal Si Chuan hotpot which is located inside 1 Utama’s new walkway shop lots at the Lower Ground names DeMala Hotpot. Demala Hotpot serves delicious Muslim-friendly Sichuan mala hotpot that can be enjoyed by everyone. DeMala Hotpot offers an eat-all-you-can buffet or ala carte meals on its menu.
There were 5 different soup broths to choose from such as Sichuan Mala, Mushroom, Tomato, Tom Yum, and Chicken Collagen Bone Broth. We had chosen Sichuan Mala (which we could choose the level of spiciness based on China’s region spiciness) and Mushroom broth for our meal.
On their menu, there was an assortment of freshly handmade ebiko shrimp balls, premium beef slices, and organic vegetables harvested daily from 1 Utama’s rooftop farm – Fresh Grower for a farm-to-table concept that promises rich flavors coupled with abundant health benefits to order from.
During our stay there, we did not take up its buffet meal as we would also like to try out its other ala carte foods on the menu.
Hence we ordered a Steamboat ala carte 2in1 Soup Pot with Si Chuan Mala and Mushroom broth. To pair with the broth, we had selected a few steamboat dishes on the menu according to our taste buds; Lotus Root Slice, Mushroom Platter, Spinach Noodles, Handmade Ebiko Shrimp Ball (8pcs), Mussels, Snow Crab Stick, Seafood Platter and Whole Fresh Fish Red Snapper (take from its live pond on top of the restaurant).
We also ordered some ready-to-eat ala carte dishes from their menu such as Stir Fry Beef with Ginger Spring Onion, Spicy Diced Chicken, and Spicy Sichuan Fish Slice Soup too.
Overall for a halal Chinese mala steamboat, it was one of the restaurants that almost got a similar taste to the Chinese mala steamboat restaurant in town. But the best part is, we could enjoy Chinese mala foods with our Muslim friends too!
