If you are craving Japanese street food, now you could get it at MyTown Shopping Center Cheras! Launch earlier this month, Gokan Maru pledges to offer to serve special local Japanese street foods to its diners ranging from teppanyaki, kushiyaki, yakitori, and much more.
The best part of this restaurant is; it’s HALAL! All of Gokan Maru’s food is from halal-certified sources, including its premium Australian wagyu beef. Its sauces are entirely house-made, from its specialty Gokan Maru sauce to teriyaki and salad dressings, harnessing halal substitutes for mirin and sake.
We paid a visit to Gokan Maru a day after its opening and tried out a few dishes from its menu; Hot & Spicy Tori Karaage, Tori Gyoza Cheese, Nabeyaki Udon, Soft Kani Sarada, Assorted Chuka Ryori, Gyu Tepanyaki, Tori Tepanyaki, Chawan Mushi and as for Yakitori, we had ordered almost all from its menu; Momo, Mune, Hatsu, Reba, Sunagimo, Okra, Tomato, Nasu, Negima and Beef Kushiyaki.
Overall after tasting its dishes, we realized that its foods were rich in flavors aka tasty. We loved its tepanyaki the most as it was delicious. Gokan Maru also offers RM 6.90 per Yakitori stick and also set menus for weekday lunches offer terrific value, with donburi delights like Torikatsu Don and Unadon, available Monday to Friday from 11:30 am to 4 pm too.
