Eco-Shop is taking a major step forward in sustainability with the launch of the Eco Power Programme, a nationwide initiative designed to encourage proper battery disposal and recycling. This programme aims to raise awareness about e-waste while making it easier for Malaysians to recycle used batteries responsibly.

Batteries are an essential part of daily life, found in countless household items. However, many people are unaware that used batteries contain hazardous substances such as lead, mercury, and cadmium, which can pollute soil and water if disposed of improperly. By introducing this programme, Eco-Shop is providing a simple yet effective solution to minimize environmental harm and promote sustainable practices.

As part of this initiative, Eco Power recycling bins will be installed at all Eco-Shop outlets nationwide starting 1 March 2025, giving customers a convenient way to dispose of their used batteries safely. For those in the Klang Valley, dedicated recycling points will be available at key Eco-plus locations:
- Eco-plus @ Nu Sentral
- Eco-plus @ IOI City Mall
- Eco-plus @ Berjaya Times Square
The Eco Power Programme builds on Eco-Shop’s recent battery rebranding, reinforcing the company’s commitment to quality, affordability, and sustainability. This initiative is just the beginning, as Eco-Shop continues to explore new ways to empower Malaysians to adopt greener habits while offering household essentials at unbeatable prices.
