Chinese New Year is the season to gather with loved ones, enjoy auspicious dishes, and welcome prosperity and joy into our lives. This festive season, Pullman Hotel Kuala Lumpur City Center’s Red Chinese Restaurant presents its exquisite Joy of Prosperity Sets, featuring a carefully curated menu to usher in good fortune.

We had the privilege to indulge in the delightful offerings, and here’s what you can expect:
Prosperity Yee Sang with Soft Shell Crab. A Chinese New Year feast is incomplete without Yee Sang, and this version is a showstopper. The vibrant medley of fresh vegetables, crispy crackers, and the star of the dish—golden-fried soft-shell crab—brought together a balance of textures and flavors. Tossing it with the signature plum sauce was a harmonious blend of sweetness and tang, symbolizing a prosperous start to the meal. Double-boiled Chicken Soup with Fish Maw and Dried Scallop. This comforting soup was a testament to the culinary mastery at Red Chinese Restaurant. Every spoonful of the rich broth carried the essence of premium ingredients, including delicate fish maw and umami-packed dried scallops. It was heartwarming and nourishing—a perfect representation of family unity. Roasted Rice Spice London Duck. This dish stole the show with its beautifully roasted duck, marinated to perfection with fragrant rice spices. The crispy skin and succulent meat had just the right balance of smoky and savory notes, making it a highlight of the feast.

Steamed Tiger Grouper with Superior Sauce. Freshness was the key to this elegant dish. The tender grouper was steamed to perfection, allowing its natural sweetness to shine through. The superior soy sauce added depth without overpowering the fish, making it a true crowd-pleaser. Crispy Prawn Meat with Pomelo Sauce. The crispy prawn meat coated in a luscious pomelo sauce offered a delightful contrast of textures. The sauce, with its citrusy sweetness and subtle bitterness from the pomelo, enhanced the flavor of the prawns beautifully. Braised Whole Abalone, Sea Cucumber, and Bean Curd Roll with Vegetables. A dish of opulence, this trio of premium ingredients was a harmonious blend of flavors and textures. The tender abalone, silky sea cucumber, and fragrant bean curd roll paired perfectly with the rich braised sauce and fresh greens, symbolizing abundance and longevity.

Mini Lotus Rice with Dried Oyster and Salted Egg Yolk. The mini lotus rice was packed with flavor, thanks to the combination of smoky dried oyster and the creamy richness of salted egg yolk. Wrapped in a fragrant lotus leaf, each bite was a burst of savory satisfaction.
Chilled Osmanthus Oolong Tea with Peach Gum & Snow Bird’s Nest and Chinese New Year Rice Cakes. The dessert was a refreshing end to the meal, with the chilled Osmanthus Oolong Tea offering a light and floral touch complemented by the jelly-like peach gum and delicate bird’s nest. The traditional Chinese New Year rice cakes added a nostalgic and sweet note, completing the feast on a high note.
