A Taste of Home at Iftar: Citarasa Malaysia Ramadhan Buffet at Hilton Garden Inn Puchong

As the fasting month draws near, the Ramadan buffet at Hilton Garden Inn Puchong sets out to do more than just feed its guests. Branded as the Citarasa Malaysia Ramadhan Buffet, the spread leans into familiar flavours, regional traditions and comfort dishes that feel especially fitting for buka puasa gatherings with family, friends or colleagues.

The buffet line opens with a reassuringly local touch. A generous selection of Ulam Ulam Kampung invites diners to start light, with crisp vegetables and herbs that refresh the palate. Paired with a variety of Sambal Tempatan, these simple bites quickly become addictive — some sambals punchy and fiery, others gentler with a balanced sweetness that works well with raw greens and rice.

Salads take on a distinctly Malaysian personality through the Malaysian Kerabu, where fresh herbs, shredded vegetables and tangy dressing create a lively contrast to the richer dishes that follow. It’s the kind of dish that quietly resets your appetite before you move on to heavier mains.

Among the cooked dishes, the Ayam Pinging Madu stands out as a crowd-pleaser. The chicken is well-marinated, with a noticeable honeyed sweetness that caramelises nicely, while the meat remains tender and juicy. It’s approachable, comforting and perfect alongside plain white rice.

For those who enjoy bolder flavours, the Kepala Ikan Salmon Adam Pedas delivers depth and spice. The gravy is robust and aromatic, clinging to the salmon head and drawing out its natural richness without overpowering it. Similarly satisfying is the Daging Masak Hitam Sarawak, slow-cooked until the beef is soft, with a dark, glossy sauce that carries subtle sweetness and spice — a dish that feels both nostalgic and indulgent.

Seafood lovers are well taken care of. The Gulai Udang Masak Diraja features prawns cooked in a creamy, spiced gravy that is fragrant rather than heavy, making it easy to enjoy even after several plates. The Siput Sedut Lemak Cili Api is another highlight, delivering a creamy coconut base with just enough chilli heat to keep things exciting, best enjoyed slowly and with care.

Rice dishes are not an afterthought here. The Nasi Daging Air Asam comes with tender beef and a tangy dipping sauce that cuts through the richness beautifully, adding brightness to each mouthful. Rounding off the savoury offerings is the much-anticipated Kambing Golek, roasted until the exterior is aromatic while the meat inside remains moist, making it a natural centrepiece at the buffet line.

The Citarasa Malaysia Ramadhan Buffet is served for dinner from 25 February to 14 March 2026, between 6.30pm and 10.00pm. An early bird promotion is available at RM120 nett per person, making it a compelling option for those planning ahead for group iftar gatherings.
