Seafood lovers, get your bibs ready — the Bucked Out Seafood Buffet at Thyme, PARKROYAL COLLECTION Kuala Lumpur is one indulgent feast you won’t want to miss. Available every Sunday evening from 6:30pm to 10:30pm, this buffet transforms your regular seafood dinner into a unique, interactive experience filled with flavour, fun, and freshness.

What makes this buffet stand out is its bucket-to-tray concept. Diners begin by filling a bucket with their preferred selection of seafood — from slipper lobsters and clams to fresh shrimps, crabs, scallops, fish, and even live oysters. Once filled, your seafood is cooked and served piping hot on a tray, laid out right in front of you for a family-style meal that encourages sharing.

During our visit, we tried a mix of slipper lobsters, clams, and prawns cooked in a rich, spicy Malay-style sambal — and it did not disappoint. The sambal had just the right amount of heat and depth, perfectly coating each morsel of seafood without overpowering their natural sweetness.

Craving something lighter? The Japanese-style garlic butter soy glaze on our next tray brought out a savoury umami note that paired beautifully with the fresh scallops and fish fillets. There are also Chinese and Indian cooking styles to choose from, offering something to suit every palate.

Adding to the indulgence, each diner is entitled to one full Boston lobster, cooked in your choice of either Thermidor style or grilled with Zesty Lemon Butter. We opted for the lemon butter version — and were rewarded with tender lobster meat elevated by the bright citrusy sauce that balanced its richness.

Beyond seafood, the buffet also includes a variety of local and international dishes. There’s a sashimi station with thick-cut slices of fresh salmon and tuna, and a shabu-shabu counter that lets you dip an array of meats and vegetables into bubbling broth for a more comforting bite.

Finish off your evening with an assortment of desserts and freshly brewed coffee or tea in the spacious, stylish setting of Thyme. The ambiance strikes a fine balance between modern elegance and relaxed comfort — ideal for both families and date nights.
