Stride in Abundance: A Chinese New Year Reunion Feast at Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, City Centre

Welcoming the Year of the Horse, Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, City Centre presents a series of Chinese New Year dining experiences centred on reunion, shared abundance and time-honoured flavours. Beginning February 6, 2026, the hotel’s key dining venues — Sichuan Kitchen and The Mesh — introduce festive menus designed for communal enjoyment, combining bold regional influences with familiar celebratory classics.

Sichuan Kitchen: Bold Festive Flavours with Sichuan Character

Sichuan Kitchen frames its Chinese New Year offerings around the robust and aromatic culinary traditions of Sichuan cuisine. The festive selections reflect a balance between spice, depth and variety, catering to family-style dining where dishes are shared and enjoyed collectively.

Among the highlights is the Stir-Fried Black Pepper Wagyu Beef, which features premium wagyu paired with black pepper seasoning, a combination known for delivering savoury richness with a gentle peppery warmth. The Red Fortune Sichuan Spicy Chicken showcases classic Sichuan techniques, incorporating dried chillies and fragrant spices that are characteristic of celebratory Sichuan dishes, often associated with bold flavour profiles and festive symbolism.

The Sichuan Mala Broth serves as a focal point for communal dining, drawing on the signature numbing-spicy balance created by Sichuan peppercorns and aromatic spices. Typically enjoyed as a shared hot pot, this style of broth encourages interaction at the table and is well-suited for reunion meals where conversation and pacing are central to the experience. Fresh seafood and vegetables complement the spread, offering contrast and balance to the richer, spice-forward selections.

Festive dining at Sichuan Kitchen includes a hot pot buffet priced at MYR 238 nett, providing an extensive selection for guests who enjoy variety and shared cooking. For more traditional banquet-style dining, a Chinese New Year set menu is available from MYR 258 nett, structured to reflect the rhythm of a festive meal.

The celebratory Prosperity Treasure Yee Sang is also available for dine-in or takeaway, topped with either traditional salmon or fried soft shell crab. Guests may choose between a classic dressing or a Sichuan-style sauce, the latter introducing a regional twist while maintaining the symbolic elements associated with prosperity and good fortune.

The Mesh: Familiar Festive Comforts with Local Influences

At The Mesh, the Chinese New Year offerings lean into oriental and local favourites that are well suited for multigenerational gatherings. The festive menu focuses on comforting, recognisable flavours, creating a sense of familiarity that complements the spirit of reunion dining.

One of the highlights is the Steamed Lobster with Garlic Flavoured Rice Vermicelli, a dish often associated with celebratory occasions. Prepared through steaming, the lobster is typically kept delicate and naturally sweet, while the rice vermicelli absorbs the aromatic garlic-infused sauce beneath, resulting in a dish that is both refined and comforting. This style of preparation allows the seafood to remain the focal point, making it a popular choice for festive tables.

The Flower Chilli Crab with Mantou offers another celebratory centrepiece, pairing crab with a lightly spiced, aromatic sauce. The accompanying mantou serves as a neutral contrast, commonly enjoyed for soaking up the sauce.

The Salmon Nyonya Fish Curry reflects Peranakan influences, combining coconut-based richness with layered spices that are known for balancing savoury, creamy and gently tangy notes.

Rounding out the spread is the Claypot Chicken Rice, a dish traditionally associated with warmth and homely comfort. Cooked in a claypot, the rice is typically infused with savoury chicken flavours and a subtle caramelised aroma, making it a familiar staple during festive meals. Together with other oriental selections, the buffet at The Mesh is curated to encourage sharing and relaxed communal dining.

The Mesh will be offering its Chinese New Year oriental buffet from February 16 to 18, 2026, with prices starting from MYR 188 nett, providing a setting that honours family togetherness while welcoming the new year with abundance.
