Sony Malaysia recently showcased its latest innovation in photography, the Sony RX1R3, at the highly anticipated Sony Alpha Experience 2025, held at Confetti KL, Mines Wellness City. The event gave photography enthusiasts and professionals alike the opportunity to explore Sony’s full range of cameras while experiencing a series of creatively themed shooting stations.
The Sony RX1R3 marks a leap forward in compact full-frame photography. Equipped with a 61.0MP Exmor R full-frame image sensor and powered by the Bionz XR image processing engine, the RX1R3 delivers breathtaking image quality with lifelike color reproduction and creative versatility. Its Zeiss 35mm Sonnar T lens with Macro Ring allows for precise, high-resolution shots, while the step corporate shooting feature enhances operational flexibility.
Despite its advanced capabilities, the RX1R3 is remarkably lightweight at 489g, making it ideal for photographers on the move. Its ISO range of 100–32,000 (expandable to 102,400) ensures excellent performance even in low-light conditions. Sony’s AI Processing Unit and Realtime Tracking with 693 phase-detection points allow photographers to lock onto subjects accurately and maintain focus down to light levels as low as EV-4.0, enabling seamless capture of dynamic scenes.
The camera features a high-resolution 3.0-type, 2.36-million-dot touchscreen LCD that adapts automatically to horizontal and vertical orientations, paired with a bigger NP-FW50 battery providing up to 300 CIPA shots per charge, with USB Power Delivery (PD) support for fast recharging. Creatives can enjoy leaf shutter capability, allowing flash sync up to 1/4,000, as well as mechanical focal-plane shutter options for precise exposure control. For added convenience, photos can be directly uploaded via the Creator App to platforms such as Lightroom and Google Drive.

These stations were brought to life through collaborations with venue partner Confetti KL, as well as Gelly Wee (wedding gowns), GWM, Nanette, Profit Lighting, Manfrotto, Hollyland, Atomos, and other industry partners.
The event not only celebrated Sony’s innovative technology but also offered photographers a chance to explore, create, and capture extraordinary moments, highlighting the power and versatility of the RX1R3.
