Intrigued by all the buzz, we couldn’t resist visiting Tap Room KL ourselves. We decided to sample two of their renowned pizzas: the Shoomami Pizza, featuring parimigiano fondue, truffle salsa, ricotta, and portobellini mushroom, drizzled with truffle oil, and the Krakow Pizza, topped with Thai basil chicken, bird’s eye chili, fried egg, crispy Thai basil, and flor di latte.
To kick off our meal, we started with a delightful MOB Mushroom soup, brimming with flavors of mushroom, caramelized onions, pearl barley, and served with sourdough toast. The Grilled Octopus, seasoned with Spanish smoked paprika and accompanied by a zesty lemongrass shallot relish, and the Roasted Cauliflower, served with halved cauliflower, coconut flakes, and creamy sambal terasi, were also heavenly choices for appetizers.
Moving on to the main course, we couldn’t resist trying their Meaty Platter, featuring a succulent grilled grain-fed striploin cooked to medium-rare perfection, a juicy chicken leg, three tiger prawn skewers, purple slaw, grilled corn, and their signature mushroom sauce and signature spicy sauce. It truly impressed our taste buds. The Pomo Squid Ink, consisting of a perfectly grilled whole squid, squid ink pasta, ricotta cheese, bonito flakes, and pomodoro sauce, and the Fish ‘n Chips, served with purple cabbage, pickle, spicy mentaiko mayo, and miso tartar, were equally delightful choices.
To end our feast on a sweet note, we savored two delectable desserts. The Berryful Waffle, adorned with earl grey raspberry and vanilla ice cream, Oreo crumbs, mixed berry compote, and fresh berries, and the Orange Soufflé Waffles, accompanied by a luscious orange reduction and a scoop of vanilla ice cream, were the perfect finales to our meal.
Overall, our experience at Tap Room KL was simply amazing. During the day, the bright surroundings create an autumn-like atmosphere, while at night, the lively music and refreshing breeze set the mood for a memorable evening.
