Baskin-Robbins Malaysia marked the start of this year’s National Day festivities with the launch of its highly anticipated “Makan BRsama” menu, showcasing an innovative fusion of traditional Malaysian flavors and ice cream. The event, held at the first-ever Baskin-Robbins Flavor Concept Store at The Exchange TRX, attracted the attention of food enthusiasts and media alike.
In a creative twist that pays homage to Malaysia’s diverse culinary heritage, Baskin-Robbins introduced two star offerings: the bold Sambal Sundae and the uniquely crafted Lat-Tali-Tart set. These limited-time menu items reflect Baskin-Robbins’ ongoing commitment to reimagining classic local flavors with a modern dessert flair.
The event was graced by notable figures, including Charmaine Cheah, CEO of Baskin-Robbins Malaysia, JM Cheah, Director of Baskin-Robbins Malaysia, and Dato Seri Shamil, Founder of Village Park. Also present were Darren Kang, Chief Strategy Officer of Baskin-Robbins Malaysia, and Sandy Low, Head of Private Label at Jaya Grocer, who all expressed their excitement about this innovative culinary venture.
Guests were treated to a taste of the new menu, featuring a blend of savory and sweet profiles that push the boundaries of traditional dessert experiences. The Sambal Sundae, in particular, drew attention for its daring combination of Baskin-Robbins ice cream with the spicy kick of Grab Signatures Village Park Nasi Lemak Sambal. Attendees were encouraged to experiment with various ice cream flavors to find their perfect sambal pairing, with Coconut, It Takes Two To Mango, and Mango Sticky Rice emerging as top choices.
Adding to the excitement was the Lat-Tali-Tart set, which offered four distinctly Malaysian flavors encased in tart shells: Village Park Nasi Lemak, Kopi Dinosaur, Pandan Kaya Butter Toast, and Durian King. Each tart was crafted to represent the rich and diverse culinary traditions of Malaysia, providing a unique tasting experience that resonated with the local palate.
In conjunction with the National Day celebration, Baskin-Robbins announced the “6.7 Promo,” allowing customers to enjoy a second Junior Milkshake and Single King for just RM 6.70. This special offer, available until 30th September, is a nod to Malaysia’s 67th year of independence and is expected to be a hit among ice cream lovers across the country.
