Whether you’re dining with family or hosting a gathering with friends, these menus cater to groups of six or ten, making them perfect for ushering in the Year of the Dragon.

We recently had the pleasure of sampling one of Zuan Yuan’s Wealthy Set Menus, priced at RM2088 nett for 6 persons or RM2388 nett for 10 persons. Here’s a detailed look at the culinary delights included:
To start, we enjoyed the Ice Plant and Japanese Glass Shrimp Yee Sang, a refreshing twist on the traditional festive dish. The crisp texture of the ice plant combined with the delicate sweetness of Japanese glass shrimp created a vibrant and flavorful beginning to the meal.

Following this was the Chicken Soup with Brazilian Mushrooms and Ginseng, served individually. This aromatic soup offered the perfect balance of earthy richness and invigorating herbal notes, a comforting way to warm up for the main courses. The mains were a showcase of expertly crafted dishes. The Traditional Crispy Duck with “Dang Gua” stood out for its tender meat and perfectly golden, crispy skin, complemented by the light sweetness of winter melon. Next was the Steamed Dragon-Tiger Grouper with Pickled Pepper, a dish that paired the delicate, flaky fish with the tangy kick of pickled pepper for a satisfying flavor profile.

Adding to the feast was the Baked Sea Prawns with Ginseng and Honey, where the succulent prawns were glazed with a luscious blend of honey and ginseng, balancing sweetness and herbal undertones beautifully. The Braised Abalone with Fatt Choy, Oyster Sauce, Fish Paste, Bean Curd, and Vegetables brought a luxurious touch, with the tender abalone symbolizing wealth and prosperity, complemented by the earthy and savory elements of the dish. To round off the savory courses, the Traditional Lotus Leaf Lap Mei Fan delighted us with its fragrant rice infused with the rich flavors of waxed meats, all steamed to perfection in lotus leaves for a nostalgic and aromatic experience.

Desserts added a sweet finale to the meal. The Longan, Peach Resin, and Snow Fungus with Rice Balls was a light, refreshing dessert that paired subtle sweetness with varied textures. Finally, the Golden and Silver Crispy Naan Gao brought the meal to a satisfying close, with its delightful crunch and sweetness symbolizing togetherness and joy for the new year.
