Putrajaya Marriott Hotel’s 2026 Mooncake Collection Blends Tradition with Indulgent New Flavours

With the Mid-Autumn Festival approaching, Putrajaya Marriott Hotel is ushering in the season of reunion with a handcrafted mooncake collection from Summer Palace that brings together familiar classics and more contemporary, indulgent flavours.

Presented in an elegant keepsake box, the 2026 collection is designed for sharing with family and friends, as well as for gifting to loved ones and business associates. The box we received featured four distinctly different flavours — White Lotus with Single Yolk, Mixed Nut, Chocolate Lava and Durian Musang King — offering a journey from traditional mooncake flavours to more modern and distinctly Malaysian indulgences.

A Familiar Mid-Autumn Classic

For many, White Lotus with Single Yolk remains one of the most recognisable flavours of the season. The mooncake combines smooth, velvety lotus seed paste with a savoury salted egg yolk at its centre, creating the familiar balance of sweetness and saltiness that makes this a perennial favourite.

It is a flavour that stays close to tradition and offers the kind of classic taste many would expect when enjoying mooncakes over tea with family during the Mid-Autumn Festival.

A Textured Bite with Mixed Nut

The Mixed Nut mooncake offers a different experience altogether. Filled with a medley of premium nuts, it brings a more textured bite, with the fragrance and crunch of the nuts providing a contrast to the softer fillings found in many traditional mooncakes.

For those who enjoy something less uniform in texture, this wholesome option adds another dimension to the collection and is likely to appeal to mooncake lovers who appreciate the more traditional nut-filled varieties.

Chocolate Goes Decadent

Moving into a more contemporary direction is the Chocolate Lava mooncake. Designed for those with a sweet tooth, it features a rich, luscious molten chocolate filling that gives the traditional mooncake a more dessert-like character.

The indulgent chocolate centre makes this one of the more modern flavours in the box, and it could be a particularly appealing choice for younger mooncake fans or anyone looking for something beyond the conventional lotus and bean-based fillings.

A Creamy Malaysian Favourite: Musang King

For a distinctly Malaysian touch, the Durian Musang King mooncake brings the unmistakable character of the country’s king of fruits into the Mid-Autumn celebration.

Rich, creamy and aromatic, the filling carries the luxurious intensity associated with Musang King durian. It is undoubtedly a flavour for durian lovers, offering a more indulgent and contemporary alternative to the traditional mooncake selections.

More Flavours to Personalise the Celebration

While the box we received included the four flavours above, Putrajaya Marriott Hotel also offers additional options for guests who wish to personalise their mooncake collection.

The remaining flavours include Red Bean Mochi, which pairs smooth red bean paste with a chewy mochi centre, and Matcha Red Bean, combining the earthy notes of premium Japanese matcha with sweet azuki beans.

Each box features four premium mooncakes, with the collection anchored by the White Lotus with Single Yolk and Mixed Nut varieties. Guests can then select two additional flavours from the curated range, allowing them to mix traditional favourites with contemporary creations such as Chocolate Lava, Durian Musang King, Red Bean Mochi and Matcha Red Bean.

Priced at RM168 nett per box, the collection is also available at an early bird price of RM148 nett per box for a limited time.

Reservations are open now until 25 September 2026, while stocks last. Customers are advised to allow at least one day for order processing, while preferred collection dates are subject to availability.
