HUAWEI Mate XT Takes the Spotlight at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur: A Visitor’s Perspective

Stepping into the Huawei Innovative Foldable Pop-up Store at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, we was immediately drawn into a world where technology meets artistry. The ‘Unfold the Classic’ exhibition wasn’t just about showcasing devices—it was an immersive experience that offered a glimpse into the future of smartphone innovation.

The Star of the Show: HUAWEI Mate XT’s Tri-Fold Revolution

The moment we laid eyes on the HUAWEI Mate XT, we knew we were witnessing something groundbreaking. As the world’s first commercial tri-fold smartphone, it expands and transforms like nothing we’ve seen before. We watched as a Huawei representative demonstrated its smooth transition between three forms: compact smartphone, dual-fold extended mode, and fully unfolded tablet mode. The fluidity of the process was impressive, and the device itself felt surprisingly lightweight despite its advanced hinge system.

What caught my attention most was the Multi-Directional Flexible Material that allows both inward and outward folding. Holding it in my hands, we could feel the strength of the hinge while appreciating its slim profile—Huawei has truly mastered the balance between durability and elegance. The screen was vibrant, delivering an immersive experience with crisp details and rich colors.

Unfolding Innovation: The HUAWEI Mate X6’s Strength

Next to the Mate XT, the HUAWEI Mate X6 stood as a testament to durability. One of the most jaw-dropping moments of the exhibition was watching its inner screen withstand the weight of a 150kg sports bike. With second-generation Kunlun Glass and a reinforced hinge system, this device is built to last. The Aviation-Grade Aluminum middle frame gave it a solid feel, reassuring me that it could handle the wear and tear of daily use.

Unfolding the Mate X6 revealed an ultra-clear, seamless display. It felt incredibly sturdy, a feature that’s crucial for anyone hesitant about the longevity of foldable smartphones. Seeing Huawei tackle one of the biggest concerns in foldable tech—durability—was impressive.

Beyond Foldables: A Complete Ecosystem

Huawei didn’t stop at smartphones. The exhibition also introduced visitors to its premium ecosystem, and I got to experience the HUAWEI MatePad Pro 13.2. It was a productivity powerhouse, with PC-level WPS Office integration and an incredibly responsive NearLink keyboard and M-Pencil. The PaperMatte OLED display was stunning, reducing glare for a comfortable viewing experience. I could see how this would be an excellent tool for professionals, especially creatives who need precise input.

The HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate was another standout. Sleek and sophisticated, it wasn’t just about looks—it featured advanced tracking for sports like golf, offering real-time swing analysis. Trying it on, we could feel the premium craftsmanship, making it clear that this smartwatch was designed for both function and fashion.

Huawei’s Commitment to Innovation

Walking through the exhibition, we couldn’t help but appreciate the journey Huawei has taken in foldable technology. With nine years of research and development culminating in the tri-fold Mate XT, the company has redefined what’s possible in smartphone design. As Alex Huang, Huawei’s Chief Marketing Officer, mentioned, this exhibition isn’t just about devices—it’s about reshaping the way technology integrates into daily life.

A Must-Visit Tech Showcase

If you’re a tech enthusiast or just curious about the future of foldable smartphones, this pop-up store is a must-visit. The HUAWEI Mate XT’s tri-fold mechanism is a game-changer, the Mate X6 proves durability isn’t a concern anymore, and the ecosystem of devices like the MatePad Pro and Watch Ultimate elevate the entire experience.

The exhibition runs until 25 February 2025, so there’s still time to see these cutting-edge devices in action. Plus, with the Mate XT available for pre-order until 14 March 2025, this is the perfect opportunity to be part of the foldable revolution.
