Have you ever craved Bak Kut Teh but realized that there was no one that could share it with you and you do not want to order a portion that you can’t finish? This happens to us all the time.
As a Bak Kut Teh lover, our editor Taeki experienced this all the time when craving Bak Kut Teh. Recently we discovered there was on traditional Bak Kut Teh restaurant; Sum Hou Bak Kut Teh had opened up an express dining shop in Wisma Cosway serving set menus and also sides dishes.
This shop was specially created for those individuals who love Bak Kut Teh to enjoy their Bak Kut Teh meals without overeating. Sum How Bak Kut Teh offers meals with options for different types of pork meat such as Belly, Ribs, Soft Rib Bone, Lean Meat, Stomach & Intestines, Mixed, Mixed (without stomach & intestines) and they even have Vegetarian Bak Kut Teh too.
Besides the soup Bak Kut Teh, they also offer Dry Bak Kut Teh, Stir-Fired Salted Fish with Pork Belly, Vinegar Pork Leg, Chicken Curry with Onion Rice, and Chicken Feet & Mushroom too.

These meals could be ordered as ala carte or set meals (comes with Onion Rice, Side Vegetable, and Chinese tea/herbal tea/coke/100 plus)
We tried out its Mixed Meat Soup and Dry Belly Bak Kut Teh set meals. As Bak Kut Teh lovers, we are loving it. The soup is just nice and the meat was tender too. Even though we are normally not a fan of Dry Bak Kut Teh, this time we are loving it as the sesame taste in the Dry Bak Kut Teh attracted us to keep eating more.
On top of that, we had tried out its ala carte Vinegar Pork Leg, Stir Fried Salted Fish with Pork Belly and of course not leaving Chicken Curry with Fried Mantao (our all-time favorite mantao). Come to our surprise, these 2 dishes did not disappoint us too.
Some side dishes that they offer to go with any of the meals were Fried Won Ton (highly recommended), Vegetables of the Day, Enoki, Button Mushroom, Meatballs (bouncy and juicy), Fried Beancurd (the texture is good), Tofu Puffs, Yao Cha Kueh (super crunchy) and onion rice.
Besides the Bak Kut Teh series, Sum Hou Bak Kut Teh also offers noodles meals for its diners too. They offer Dry Bak Kut Teh Noodles (something special that we never had before), Chicken Feet Mushroom Noodles (we loved this!), and Chicken Curry Noodles (awesome curry noodles).
As we can see, this Sum Hou Bak Kut Teh express shop is also suitable for those Bak Kut Teh lovers who love different parts of the meal to eat together at the same table without sharing their dishes.
Sum Hou Bak Kut Teh is located on the first floor of Wisma Cosway; just opposite of Novotel Hotel and Pavilion Bukit Bintang. If you are around that area, why not head over to this shop to try out their Bak Kut Teh?
Pst: The price is much more affordable compared to dining in Pavilion Bukit Bintang or a nearby restaurant anyway.
