British family-owned tea brand Ahmad Tea is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a Ruby Jubilee celebration in Malaysia, marking four decades of family heritage, tea craftsmanship and an enduring commitment to quality.
Founded in Southampton, England, in 1986 by Mr. Rahim Afshar and his brothers, Ahmad Tea began as a small family tea shop built around a simple principle: quality should never be compromised, and every product should be worthy of being served in the family home.
Over the past four decades, the company has grown from its humble beginnings into a globally recognised British tea brand, while remaining family-owned and closely connected to its founding passion for tea.
Four Decades of Tea Craftsmanship
At the heart of Ahmad Tea’s journey is its approach to tea selection and blending. The brand has developed an extensive portfolio that includes classic British black teas, herbal infusions and contemporary tea varieties, reflecting both its heritage and the changing preferences of tea drinkers worldwide.
The Ruby Jubilee celebration in Malaysia brought this heritage to life through a 40-Year Heritage Wall, curated tea-tasting sessions and a presentation showcasing the brand’s extensive tea portfolio.
The celebration also provided an opportunity to highlight the craftsmanship behind each blend and the principles of quality that have guided the company since its beginnings.

A New Chapter with Sencha
While the anniversary looks back at Ahmad Tea’s four decades of heritage, it also marks the beginning of a new chapter for the brand.
As part of its 40th anniversary activities, Ahmad Tea launched its Sencha, bringing its tea-blending expertise to a new expression of tea while embracing the diverse traditions and preferences of today’s tea drinkers.
The launch reflects the company’s continued evolution while maintaining the craftsmanship and quality standards that have defined its products over the years.
“Preparation Is Everything”
The anniversary also sees Ahmad Tea partnering with Premier League footballer Antoine Semenyo as its Global Brand Ambassador.
The partnership forms part of the brand’s global “Preparation Is Everything” campaign, which focuses on the importance of preparation, discipline and consistency in achieving excellence.
The campaign draws a connection between Semenyo’s approach to football and Ahmad Tea’s philosophy that excellence is achieved through preparation and attention to detail.
Looking Towards the Future
As Ahmad Tea enters its next decade, the company says it remains committed to evolving alongside consumers while preserving the principles that have guided its family business for the past 40 years.
Established in the United Kingdom in 1986, Ahmad Tea is now available in more than 80 markets worldwide. The company continues to focus on quality, integrity, responsible sourcing and innovation, and has received recognition including the King’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development and numerous Great Taste Awards.
For Ahmad Tea, the 40th anniversary represents more than a celebration of the past. It marks a continuation of the brand’s journey — honouring four decades of tea heritage and craftsmanship while looking ahead to the moments and possibilities still to come.
As the brand enters its next chapter, its purpose remains unchanged: to create tea worthy of every home.
