Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur introduces a mix-and-match mooncake collection that puts personal taste at the heart of this year’s Mid-Autumn celebrations.
Mid-Autumn Festival is traditionally a time for reunion, gifting and, of course, mooncakes. This year, Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur is giving the familiar festive treat a more personalised touch with its Premium Mix & Match Mooncake Box, allowing diners and gift-givers to create their own four-piece selection from its signature baked mooncake collection.
Available from 1 July to 25 September 2026, the Premium Mix & Match Mooncake Box is priced at RM168+ per box of four baked mooncakes. Rather than being restricted to a fixed assortment, customers can select any four flavours they prefer — a particularly appealing option for those who have very specific mooncake favourites.
The collection features six flavours: Red Bean Paste, White Pure Lotus Paste, White Lotus Paste with Single Yolk, Pandan Lotus Paste with Single Yolk, Yam Lotus Paste with Single Yolk, and Assorted Fruits & Nuts.
I had the opportunity to sample four of the flavours — Red Bean Paste, White Lotus Paste with Single Yolk, Pandan Lotus Paste with Single Yolk and Assorted Fruits & Nuts — and one of the first things that stood out was the generous size of the mooncakes. These are substantial portions, making each one feel suitably indulgent for the festive season.
More importantly, however, they are not overly sweet. For those who find some traditional mooncakes excessively sugary, this collection offers a more restrained sweetness that allows the individual fillings and flavours to come through.

Red Bean Paste
The Red Bean Paste is a comforting interpretation of a classic. The filling has the familiar earthy sweetness and smooth, dense texture expected from a good red bean mooncake, but the sweetness remains relatively measured. It is the sort of flavour that works particularly well with Chinese tea, where the tea’s gentle bitterness balances the richness of the filling.
White Lotus Paste with Single Yolk
For traditionalists, the White Lotus Paste with Single Yolk is perhaps the most quintessential choice. The lotus paste is smooth and creamy with a mellow sweetness, while the single salted egg yolk provides a savoury counterpoint that prevents the mooncake from becoming cloying.
The contrast between the sweet lotus paste and the rich, slightly salty yolk gives this mooncake its classic appeal, and the restrained sweetness makes it considerably easier to enjoy despite its generous size.
Pandan Lotus Paste with Single Yolk
The Pandan Lotus Paste with Single Yolk takes the classic combination a step further with the fragrant character of pandan. The pandan lends a subtle Southeast Asian aroma to the smooth lotus filling, creating a flavour profile that feels both familiar and distinctly local.
Once again, the salted egg yolk adds depth and savouriness, cutting through the sweetness and giving the mooncake a more layered finish. Of the four sampled, this is an interesting choice for those who enjoy traditional mooncakes but want something with a little more aromatic character.
Assorted Fruits & Nuts
The Assorted Fruits & Nuts offers the biggest departure from the smoother, paste-based varieties. Instead of relying solely on the richness of lotus or red bean paste, the filling brings together fruity and nutty elements, resulting in a more textured bite.
The nuts provide crunch and savouriness, while the fruit components introduce bursts of sweetness and acidity. It is a good option for those who prefer some texture in their mooncake rather than the uniformly smooth consistency of traditional pastes.
Six flavours, one personalised box
For those looking to explore the complete collection, the six available flavours provide a fairly broad spectrum — from the familiar Red Bean Paste and White Pure Lotus Paste, to the more indulgent White Lotus Paste with Single Yolk, fragrant Pandan Lotus Paste with Single Yolk, distinctive Yam Lotus Paste with Single Yolk, and the textural Assorted Fruits & Nuts.
The mix-and-match concept is arguably the collection’s most practical feature. Instead of receiving four identical or predetermined flavours, customers can select according to their own preferences — or create different combinations for different recipients.
For corporate gifting, the offering becomes even more attractive with bulk purchase privileges. Customers purchasing 20–49 boxes receive 10% off, while purchases of 50–99 boxes receive 15% off. Orders of 200 boxes or more enjoy 20% off.
There are also additional corporate appreciation rewards. Purchases of 100 boxes come with five complimentary Dim Sum Remix vouchers, along with 30% off food and beverage at Lai Ching Yuen, with the vouchers valid until 30 November 2026.
For larger corporate orders of 500 boxes and above, the rewards increase to 30 complimentary Dim Sum Remix vouchers, together with 30% off food and beverage at Lai Ching Yuen, also valid until 30 November 2026.
And for an added festive touch, every box purchased also comes with a chance to win prizes in the Lucky Draw.
With its generous portions, moderate sweetness and freedom to build a personalised four-flavour selection, Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur’s 2026 mooncake collection offers a refreshing approach to a familiar Mid-Autumn tradition. Whether the preference is for the comforting simplicity of red bean, the timeless combination of lotus and salted egg yolk, the fragrant pandan variation or the contrasting textures of fruits and nuts, there is room to make the box your own.
