As a Malaysian, we do loved Thai foods. There are many varieties of Thai dishes around but if you are eating in a small group, it is hard to order as much dishes as you want.

But there is a good news! By eating in a buffet spread, you could try out as many dishes as you want at any size of portion.

This September, Nook Restaurant in Aloft Kuala Lumpur has invited a Guest Chef; Chef Burin Pongchang from Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers in Bangkok which has almost 30 years of Thai culinary experience to offer his specialties Thai foods (Tantalisingly Thai) to Nook’s buffet dining guest from 3rd September – 30th September 2018.

The buffet will showcase a variety of dishes ranging from appetisers to desserts on two different menus which will be offered on a rotational basis for the buffet;

Appetisers: Labb Gai (Spicy Minced Chicken Salad), Som Tum Pol La Mai (Thai Fruit Salad), Yum Woonsen Thalay (Spicy Vermicelli Salad with Seafood), Tom Yum Soups, Tom Yum Gong (Spicy and Sour Prawn) and Tom Kha Gai (Chicken and Galangal Shoot in Coconut Milk Soup).

Larb Gai – Thai Spicy Minced Chicken Salad

Som Tum Poi La Mai – Thai Fruit Salad


Yum Tha Lay – Spicy Seafood Salad

Tom Yum Gong – Spicy and Sour Prawn Soup

Mains: Kaeng Kiew Wan Gai (Chicken in Green Curry), Goong Makham (Deep-fried Prawn Tamarind Sauce), Pla Sam Rod (Deep-fried Fish Topped with Sweet, Sour and Hot sauce), Kaeng Phed Nua, Phad Thai (Beef in Red Curry) and Pad Kee Mow (Stir-fried Rice Noodle with Hot Basil)

Chef Burin’s Thai menu will also be offered by Aloft’s food truck, Re:fuel On Wheels for lunch between 11:30am – 2:30pm from Monday to Friday for the month of September. Stationed at the Hotel’s porte cochere along Jalan Stesen Sentral, passer-bys and diner have the option of trying out Chef Burin’s food truck version of the Labb Gai, Keang Mussaman Nua, Por Pia Pak and Kaeng Phed Nua.
