In early August, Samsung announced the new Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+. These tablets are premium and designed to compete with the Apple iPad Pro and Microsoft Surface Pro. The new Android tablets target the high-end tablet market. These tablets look more like a PC replacement than a tablet for just reading or watching videos.
With the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+, Samsung is offering you a 5G-enabled tablet with a large screen that’s loaded with all the tools you need to unleash your creativity, immerse yourself in entertainment and take your productivity to the next level.
Specification and Design
Out of the box, the Galaxy Tab S7+ feels premium. The outside of the S7+ is a smooth metallic material. The Galaxy Tab S7+ is not only Samsung’s biggest premium tablet but at 5.75mm thin, it is also one of the thinnest tablets out there. It also features a 12.4-inch 120Hz HDR10+ Super AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ chipset, 10090 mah battery, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage for what is arguably the highest specced tablet available.
The Galaxy Tab S7+ comes with a 12.4″ Super AMOLED, 120Hz display with 2800 x 1752 resolution, and a 16:10 aspect ratio which makes the overall shape of the tablet taller and narrower than an iPad, and it’s also thinner and lighter than the iPad Pro 12.9. The display on this device is impressive. The high refresh rate means that the screen is extremely responsive to touch. The display also supports biometric login with the in-screen fingerprint scanner seen in Samsung’s high-end smartphone offerings.
It was bright and extremely responsive to touch when it booted up to sign in. As far as ports and buttons go, the device is very simplistic with a power button, volume button, and a single USB-C charging port.
The Galaxy Tab S7+ comes standard with a 10900mAh battery, which is more considerable than the 12.9″ iPad Pro battery at 9720mAh. It was able to get 14 hours on lighter workloads like browsing the web and watching videos in a single charge and over 3 days of standby time. The device supports a 45W fast charging too!
The quad speakers powered by Dolby Atmos provided a great audio experience. The speakers are on the device’s corners, and the placement makes for a balanced, crisp audio experience. The audio sounded great, whether taking a video call, streaming standup comedy on YouTube, or watching a the newest episodes of Blacklist on Netflix .
The S7+ has two rear cameras and a front-facing selfie camera. The front-facing camera is 8MP and located on the horizontal plane. That means the camera is best suited for use while the keyboard is attached, and the device is flat. The rear cameras are a 13MP primary camera and 5MP wide-angle camera.
Samsung bundles the S Pen stylus with the slate, so you won’t need to shell out extra for it. The S Pen is more responsive than the stylus that came with the Galaxy Tab S6 and it snaps magnetically onto the back of the tablet where it charges wirelessly.
The complimentary S Pen is a nice touch, while Apple’s pen for the iPad Pro will run you an additional cost for it. You may elevate your notetaking with easy PDF import and annotation, as well as the ability to write, type and draw in the same area. Samsung Notes also features Audio Bookmark, which allows you to record lectures or meetings while you write, and then sync the two together. Easily navigate lengthy lecture recordings by tapping on a sentence and automatically jump back to the corresponding audio timestamp
The case on the device had a convenient S Pen stowaway option. It keeps the pen hidden and connected to the magnet that runs along with the rear cameras. I don’t trust the magnets to hold the pen connected to the device while putting the tablet on surfaces or stowing away in a backpack
If you want to experience a PC-like interface on your tablet, you can use the improved Samsung DeX, with Samsung’s versatile Book Cover Keyboard. This upgraded keyboard comes with an added line of intuitive function keys, a larger touchpad and several new angles, so that you can comfortably write, type and sketch when you’re away from a desk.
The latest One UI brings a streamlined task bar to Samsung DeX. With the addition of screen zoom support and font sizing options, you can customize Samsung DeX to suit your preferences. After snapping a window to the right or left of the screen, your most recent apps appear so you can quickly choose and launch your preferred tool. If you need to present to a group, you can wirelessly connect your tablet to compatible TVs. The Galaxy Tab S7+ keyboard comes with every Galaxy Tab S7+’s tablet purchase which makes it more attractive.
Packed with cutting-edge features and seamlessly integrated into the Galaxy ecosystem, the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ are built to support you in every pursuit—from work, to play, and everything in between. Featuring a new-and-improved S Pen, a stunning display and a suite of creativity features, these tablets offer a vast canvas for bringing your ideas to life.
