Samsung Galaxy S20 FE: The Cheapest Model in Samsung’s Galaxy S20 Series

The Galaxy S20 FE (Fan Edition) is the cheapest phone in Samsung’s premium S20 family offering roughly 30% lower than its siblings in the S20 family.

So what is the reason behind the price difference and how different Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is compare to other S20 series?

Material

One of the obvious reason was its the material that they used for its phone’s body. Compare to Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, its using a lower range material for its body and it is much more lighter too. Unlike its other siblings, it has a back made of plastic instead of glass.

The Camera

Cameras are a major selling point for smartphones. The Galaxy S20 FE is loaded with a triple rear camera setup, spearheaded by a 12-megapixel solution, and accompanied with a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. In contrast, the Galaxy S20 Ultra comes with a quad-camera setup, and can even record video in 8K at 24 FPS. Both phones have Space Zoom which allows the camera to zoom in many times over. The S20 FE can zoom in up to 30x magnification, but the Ultra can zoom in 100x (and 10x hybrid optic zoom).

With bigger pixels and enhanced camera AI, the rear camera on Galaxy S20 FE adjusts to pull in light even when it’s dark so your shots come out detailed and colorful. It also shoots multiple frames at once, processing them into one clear nighttime photo.

The biggest camera drawback with the Galaxy S20 FE is that it cannot shoot videos in 8K. But most of us does not need to shoot our videos in 8k format unless you are shooting a commercial video.

Battery Life & RAM Storage

The Galaxy S20 FE is powered by a 4500 mAh capacity battery, and is equipped with 128GB storage, along with 8GB of RAM. The Galaxy S20 Ultra has a 5000 mAh battery and can be purchased with either 128GB or 512GB of internal storage.

Equipt with Super Fast Charging cable, the Galaxy S20 FE also offers Wireless Charging function and Wireless Powershare where it allows the phone to charge other wireless charging devices.

Networks Speed

Galaxy S20 FE powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 5G Mobile Platform you can game on in real time with little lag, while your streams and video calls come through clear.

Screen Sharing and Multitask

Samsung DeX; a service that allows you to use your mobile like a computer by connecting the mobile to an external display, such as a TV, or a monitor. Currently, HDMI/USB cable wired connection has been supported for Samsung DeX. Galaxy Note20 and Note20 Ultra, however, you can enjoy simple, wireless connection with Samsung DeX via Wi-Fi. Experience Multi-Tasking on a large screen with the Wireless DeX.

Using separate apps are available on the external display and your mobile simultaneously. You can watch YouTube or Netflix on a TV while surfing the Web on the mobile at the same time, or you can take a note with Samsung Notes while watching online lectures on TV.

Available Colours

When it comes to colors, the Galaxy S20 Ultra is only available in two, while Galaxy S20 FE buyers have a choice of six colors. If aesthetics are important, the Galaxy S20 FE is worth considering

Priced at RM 2,699 the Galaxy S20 FE is the cheapest, but comes with the least features and more modest specs. At RM 5,199, the S20 Ultra is the most expensive, but comes with the most features and the best specs.
