Ramadan is a holy month for the Muslims to fast. As a Malaysian, the breaking fast has become a norm; other races and religions too enjoy sampling various and exciting food available all around throughout this period.
This year, Sunway Putra Hotel Kuala Lumpur once again will feature an array of Buka Puasa Buffet at the Coffee House, Level 9, starts from 27th April till 22nd May 2020. Check out the award winning Executive Chef Rossham’s specially curated menu, not to mention Coffee House is certified as 100% Halal by JAKIM.
With the theme, ‘Iftar Heritage 1957’, Ramadan Buffet is inspired with all delights created and introduced after the Independence year. Chef Rossham created a range of Malay delights with consideration of using varieties of herbs, spices and other ingredients widely used back in those years. The Ramadan Buffet, available from 27th April till 22nd May 2020 is available at Coffee House, Level 9 of the Hotel, priced at MYR138 nett (adult) and half price for children aged 7 to 12 years old or senior citizen (aged 60 years and above). Early Bird Vouchers are also available for purchase to the public from 10th March 2020 till 20th April 2020 which is priced at MYR90 nett per piece.
Diners can experience more than 90 mouth-watering delights and stalls. Start to break-fast with sweet offerings such as imported Kurma, Sirap Selasih, Ice-Kacang, Cendol or Bubur Kacang Hijau or simply head to a huge spread of appetizers counter offering Ulam-ulaman, Rojak Buah, Sotong Kangkung, Jeruk, Gado-gado, Pasembor, Sambal Tempoyak, Kerabu Inti Kelapa Pedas, Kerabu Kerisik, Kerabu Asam Limau Betik Muda Tauhu Goreng and many more. For your soup option, check-out Chef’s recommended Sup Tulang Kenduri. The Bubur Lambuk and Nyonya Curry Laksa are simply delicious. Japanese food lovers can take the advantage of sampling the infused Malaysian style sushi such as Nasi Lemak Sushi, Beef Serunding Sushi, Otak-Otak Sushi, Chicken Rendang Sushi and Chicken Percik Sushi.




Diners too will appreciate Chef’s must-try food, the Kambing Panggang 18 Ramuan; Chef Rossham was inspired to create this menu during his participation on one of the culinary competition in Thailand back in year 2017.
Other main highlights from the Ramadan menu will be Ikan Merah Masak Masam Manis and Lidah Lembu Panggang Air Assam both prepared in a dome or known as Masakan Dalam Dulang (Dome Set) which is widely introduced back in the year after the Country’s Independence. Not forgetting, Sunway Putra Hotel’s signature dish the Fish Head Curry, with an option of Salmon Head Curry or Red Snapper Head Curry. Other lauk pauk to look out for are Udang Masak Asam Pedas, Sotong Sambal Cili, Daging Salai Lemak Bunga Kantan, Ayam Kicap Berempah, Paru Goreng Berlada, Ayam Masak Kari Hijau Utara, Cencaru Sumbat Sambal, Ikan Tenggiri Goreng Sambal Lemak Tempoyak and many more!
















End your perfect ‘buka puasa’ with an array of delectable desserts. The highlights will be Malay Kuih choices of many made using banana leaves as part of the wrapping like Kuih Koci, Kuih Pulut Panggang, Kuih Tepung Pelita, Kuih Nagasari Pisang, Kuih Lepat Sagu. This method of using Banana leaf takes us way back when after our Independence, these leaves played a big role in wrapping and preparations of food then as they were very large, flexible and also waterproof. Other sweet delights available will be Banana Bread & Butter Pudding, Rebus Ubi Kayu, Bambolini Doughnut, red Velvet Cake, Hawaiian Coconut Cake, Orange Cream Puff and Vanilla Layered Cake.
