Heineken® Refresh Thrills 18,000 Fans at Sunway Lagoon with an Electrifying Music Experience

Heineken® once again delivered an electrifying experience, captivating nearly 18,000 attendees at this weekend’s Heineken® Refresh cross-genre music event at Sunway Lagoon Surf Beach.

The second edition of Heineken® Refresh saw enthusiastic fans eager to elevate their music-sharing experiences, breaking their musical bubbles to explore fresh sounds. Pushing the boundaries of live music events, Heineken® Refresh introduced innovations that both surprised and delighted attendees.

Brazilian DJ Alok headlined the event, marking his first performance in Malaysia. Known for his genre-bending Brazilian Bass style, Alok’s hour-long set featured a unique blend of R&B, Hip Hop, and chart-topping EDM hits, keeping the crowd hyped throughout his performance.

The event also showcased regional superstars WUKONG and Malaysia’s own Blink. WUKONG energized the crowd with an electrifying electronic bass set infused with Chinese influences. Blink delivered a sensational collaborative performance with a 20-piece orchestra, covering EDM hits and featuring special guests Glenn Yong and Victoria. Co-curated by Blink and Heineken®, the performance offered an extraordinary cross-genre spectacle of EDM beats and symphonic orchestrations that left the audience in awe.

Showcasing Heineken®’s spirit of innovation, the event featured an interactive live voting feature called Heineken® Music Takeover. Introduced during Mr Yang B2B Ashley Lau and MJ’s sets, this feature integrated LED wristbands with technology, allowing attendees to influence genre selections in real-time by synchronizing or changing colors in response to signals, creating a dynamic interaction between artists and audience.

Heineken® Refresh is part of Heineken®’s global cross-genre music campaign, ‘Refresh Your Music, Refresh Your Nights.’ Earlier this year, the campaign launched Heineken® Fresh List, a digital activation in partnership with Spotify that encouraged listeners to broaden their musical horizons. The campaign, which included a series of in-outlet activations, culminated in this spectacular finale. Accessible through the Heineken® Refresh Hub platform at Heineken Refresh Hub, the unique Heineken® Refreshing Algorithm empowers fans to blend their playlists with global EDM superstar Martin Garrix and local heroes Uriah and Ashley Lau.
