The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3’s biggest drawback was battery life. While the Z Flip 3’s price, style, and form factor attracted plenty of buyers, those buyers sacrificed screen-on time for a fashionable form factor.
The good news is here: Our first battery tests show the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 as having noticeably better battery life than the Z Flip 3, to the tune of two additional hours, which can really make a difference toward the end of the day.
The battery capacity of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is rated at 3,595mAh which results in a typical capacity of 3,700mAh, which, as stated above, is 400mAh more than the battery capacity of the Galaxy Z Flip 3.
After of test with the Galaxy Z Flip 4, it could run the video for 9 hours 25 minutes before hitting 10% battery and entering the low-power mode, when it mandatorily reduced screen brightness. It then toddled on for another 2 hours, 7 minutes, for a total of 11 hours and 27 minutes.
While the Galaxy Z Flip 3 ran for 9 hours and 30 minutes even with the low-power mode period. So what we’re seeing is that Flip 4 has noticeably better screen-on time.
The Galaxy Z Flip 4 also supports Samsung Fast wireless charging 2.0. This wireless charging standard from Samsung supports 10W+ charging power and is available on the Samsung Wireless Charger Stand and Wireless Charger Duo Pad. Other Qi-certified wireless chargers will also work with the Galaxy Z Flip 4.
Overall, it seems that Samsung really made a substantial upgrade in the battery life of the Z Flip 4 – a much-needed one actually, and one that will result in maybe the greatest quality of life improvement in comparison with the previous generation.
