Asia GT Festival today announced that it will be hosting the inaugural Celebrity Bazaar, which will be among the highlights visitors can look forward to during the race weekend from 15 – 17 March 2019 at the Sepang International Circuit.

The Celebrity Bazaar will feature a series of pop-up stores and marketplace by local celebrities such as Joe Flizzow, Elly Raja Lawak, Linora Low, KTown Clan, and 47 others. This event is jointly organised by Mbits Digital, a local integrated telco and broadcasting startup.

“The Asia GT Festival offers unique lifestyle experiences for visitors of all ages to enjoy such as the Celebrity Bazaar,” said Matahari Lee, Executive Director of Country Heights Holdings Berhad, who is the co-organiser of this event. “The Celebrity Bazaar aims to provide a platform for local creators and artists to showcase their masterpieces for visitors to indulge.”

“We are excited to co-organise this one-stop marketplace where visitors can find exclusive items from our local artists and possibly for them to meet their idols too,” said Sara Nattaya, Founder and President of Mbits Digital Sdn Bhd.

The Celebrity Bazaar is among a series of sought-after offerings at this Asia GT Festival. For music fans, there will be a mini concert by Malaysian renowned artist Joe Flizzow and seven members of the 16 BARIS band at 6:30pm on 17 March 2019. Visitors planning to head over to Sepang International Circuit during race weekend can also expect fun family-friendly activities such as rock climbing, flying fox, food truck culinary experiences, and more.

This racing festival has something for everyone to experience and enjoy during the weekend, not just fast cars and loud engines.

Another highlight of the inaugural Asia GT Festival is that its grid will see a line-up of 35 GT cars racing round the Sepang International Circuit track. This grid will be the largest line-up single series GT category in Southeast Asia to date. In addition, the race will feature famous racing carmakers such as AMG, Audi, Ferrari, Bentley, McLaren, Porsche, BMW and more. Malaysian supporters can also root for local drivers including Jazeman Jaafar and Dominic Ang who will be among the driver line-up.

The good news does not stop there for automotive enthusiasts. There will also be a hot lap showcase by the one of fastest electric road cars in the world – the NIO EP9. This state-of-the- art electric vehicle is most well-known for shattering the 20km-long Nürburgring Nordschleife lap record clocking a solid 6:45.900.

Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is expected to flag off the Prime Minister’s Saga Cup race on the morning of 17 March as we pay tribute and go down memory lane with the evergreen Proton Saga, his brainchild from the 1980s.

You can catch all this action at the Asia GT Festival which will be held from 15 – 17 March 2019 at the Sepang International Circuit. For more information on the race weekend and ticket purchase, please log on to: asiagtfestival.com
