Bukit Jalil, along the road to Bandar Kinrara, there were a shop lots on the left hand side of the road where many cafes, pubs and recently the Fat Mama’s steamboat is located.
The Fat Mama name comes from a Hong Kong movie artist that you will definitely come across (if you are a Hong Kong movies and dramas friend) a main charater named Maria in most of the 90s Hong Kong movies. Her real name is actually, Maria Cordero. Many thaught she was a Filipino but actually she was born to a Macanese family of Portuguese-Chinese blood in Macau in 1954.
In recent year, with her passion in cooking, she has also produced series of cooking show named, Maria’s Kitchen on Cable TV. She also have a nickname called ‘Fei Ma’ or ‘Fat Mama’.
Fat Mama has recently opened up outlets of steambout chain restaurant in Hong Kong and was very well received by Hong Kong people. She has also recently opened up her first steamboat restaurant in Malaysia for us as a Malaysian to try out Hongkie Style Steamboat.
FatMama Steamboat comes with 5 types of soup selection; FatMama Savoury Clear Soup Base, FatMama Umami Special Soup Base, FatMama Spicy Satay Sauce Base; FatMama Thai Tom Yum Soup Base and FatMama Savoury Porridge. There soups are all been created specially by FatMama for her steamboat soups which she was famous for.
FatMama also offers 5 types of specially made sauce that Hong Kong people loves to go with the foods provided. They have more than 45 types of dishes for selection while with free flow soups and drinks for all it’s customers.
FatMama Steamboat always holds it’s principle to provide fresh seafood to it’s customers (which is true; verified by eRayn3 crew). Your will never find any steamboat shop that offers such a big Alaska King Crab and Crabs for it’s buffet.
